Homebrewers,
There’s nothing like a good homebrew after hours of back breaking snow & ice shoveling. If you haven’t started on your driveway yet, I’d recommend drinking one before you get started. That ice is a real blister buster.
Local News Kegs! Yes, we have a guy that has recently decommissioned soda kegs for sale for $20 each. The best part: he’ll donate half the proceeds for each keg sold through the club. So if you are interested and haven’t contacted me already, do so soon.
Club Stuff Technically we should be having a meeting Feb 22nd, but who cares about what the schedule is suppose to be. We are going to push the meeting back to Saturday because of this:
Polar Bear Brew Day is Saturday February 24th at 10am. Bring your equipment and brew with us. If you’re an all grain brewer you’ll probably want to arrive as close to 10am as possible, but if you’re extract well you can start whenever. We’ll have all the filtered water and chiller water that you’ll need so no need to bring your own. If you just want to watch and drink beer then you can come and do that too. Bring homebrews and/or commercial beers, and food to share. Kris is going to try and have his kegerator ready to go by then so you can also bring Cornelius kegs as well if you’d like.
There’s been talk of brewing similar beer and doing some experimenting so to get in on that email the Hop Jockeys list server. If you’re not on the email list server you can sign up here and get in on club talk whenever. After you sign up, feel free to email hopjockeys@hopjockeys.org any brewing, beer, or club related questions or news whenever.
Beer Style of the Month February is brown month, there’s nothing like a good toasty English Brown!
Cheers,
